The Fund welcomes Crown, Querrey as newest members of board of directors

CHICAGO—The Chicago Public Education Fund's board of directors elected two new members last week, welcoming Susan Crown and Kimberly Querrey with a unanimous vote of approval.

"Susan and Kimberly bring a wide range of experience and knowledge to The Fund," said Nuveen Investments Chairman and CEO Tim Schwertfeger, chairman of The Fund. "We are proud to have them as directors, and I am confident they will enhance the board's ability to continue providing critical strategic management assistance to The Fund's portfolio programs."

Ms. Crown is a principal of the Chicago firm of Henry Crown & Company, which manages investments in banking, diversified manufacturing, healthcare, oil and gas, real estate, resort properties and telecommunications. She also serves as president of the AICM Foundation, which concentrates its efforts on education, urban issues, culture, and on the Middle East.

A graduate of Yale University, Ms. Crown earned her M.A. at New York University and serves as a director of Illinois Tool Works and the Northern Trust Corporation. She also serves as a member of the Executive Committee of Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center, and chairs Rush's Facilities Committee. She is chairman of the Shoah Visual History Foundation, a director of the United Way of Metropolitan Chicago, and a member of the United States Olympic Committee CEO Council.

Ms. Querrey currently serves as the president of Querrey Enterprises, which focuses on assisting organizations with strategy and efficiency. She has more than 20 years of experience in manufacturing, most recently as corporate director of operations/environmental health and safety for IMCO Recycling Inc. In addition, she served as an adjunct professor at Western Michigan University, teaching operational management, engineering and chemistry.

Ms. Querrey has held numerous positions in environmental health and safety, as well as production and operational management for Fortune 500 companies. Currently, she consults for several clients on an array of issues in all aspects of operational management.

Ms. Crown and Ms. Querrey join a board of directors comprising 27 of Chicago's highest-profile business and civic leaders. Extraordinarily active in guiding its strategy and investments, The Fund's directors commit time, energy and substantial financial resources to the improvement of Chicago's public schools.
