Development Manager
Job Description
Qualifications
The Fund seeks a highly motivated, entrepreneurial professional with at least four years of experience in development, fundraising, sales, communications or a related field, to help our organization cultivate and grow its investor base. The ideal candidate will have:
 |
a successful track record managing multiple projects and bringing them to timely completion |
 |
outstanding written and oral communication skills |
 |
a keen eye for detail and high accountability for accuracy of information |
 |
considerable understanding
of, and experience with, media relations |
 |
hands-on experience managing interactions in and reporting from donor management software; Raiser’s Edge is preferred |
 |
proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, as well as familiarity with web-based search engines and database applications |
 |
a deep commitment to The Fund’s mission |
 |
the desire to work in an
entrepreneurial enviornment where taking initiative, displaying
a strong work ethic, paying attention to detail, and having
a willingness to cross boundaries and help colleagues
are a must |
Responsibilities
The Development Manager will report to the Chief Operating Officer and will have interaction with the President and the development committee of the board of directors. The Development Manager will assist in maintaining the organization’s eight-year record of reaching annual fundraising goals by:

authoring timely and effective grant proposals |
 |
providing timely, complete and 100% accurate research and reporting on investors and prospects |
 |
assembling all materials needed for every investor meeting and ensuring timely follow-up |
 |
securing continued participation of key corporate, education and civic leaders at all investor relations and recognition events |
 |
ensuring timely investor acknowledgement and correspondence |
 |
contributing to The Fund’s annual report and its effective use as a development tool |
 |
adding consistent value to operating activities of the organization, including budgeting, recruiting, etc. |
 |
directing the communications activities
of all staff including training, supervising and assigning
work as appropriate; overseeing brand compliance throughout
Fund operations |
 |
providing strategic and operational
management assistance to portfolio programs in need of
marketing and communications expertise |
 |
adding consistent value to operational
activities such as organizational strategic planning,
strategic management assistance to our portfolio programs,
budgeting, human resources, etc. |
